Three Dot Dash is looking for dedicated individuals from a variety of backgrounds including NGOs (non-governmental organizations), corporations, professional and artistic communities, as well as other global citizens from a variety of backgrounds and expertise who believe that mentoring is a crucial part of guiding our youth.

 

what do we expect from a three dot dash mentor?

• Volunteer mentoring services.
• Work with one Global Teen Leader (GTL).
• Serve for one year (12 months) following the 2012 Three Dot Dash Just Peace Summit:
  March 2012 - April 2013.
• Required attendance on Mentor day, Thursday, March 29th from 11.30am - 8.30pm, which includes the following sessions/workshops:
• Mentor Brunch meet & greet, arrivals from 10:30am - 11:30am (optional)
• General Session for Mentors - 11:30am
• Mentor Lunch
• General Session Mentor/GTL Introduction & Expectation
• Workshop Mentor/GTL Working Session
• Workshop Connector Program
• Mentor/GTL Dinner
• Support the GTL in creating a one-year goal-oriented action plan during the Summit that will serve as a guideline to further the GTLs' projects over the next 12 months.
• Mentors and GTLs must communicate at least once per month for 12 months. However, the total amount of time that the Mentor and GTL spend communicating during those 12 months is up to the individual Mentor and GTL.
• Mentors are required to submit progress reports in July '12, December '12 and a final report in April '13. At that time, the Mentor will have fulfilled his/her Three Dot Dash obligation.

 

how do we match mentors with gtls?

Each GTL will be matched with one Mentor prior to the Three Dot Dash Just Peace Summit. We will match Mentors and GTLs together based on the GTLs' needs and Mentors' interests and expertise. Once matched, each potential Mentor will be contacted and given further information about his or her prospective GTL. Mentors will have the opportunity to accept or decline the match at that time. If the Mentor declines the match, we will try to re-match with another GTL if possible. Once a GTL/Mentor match is confirmed, the fun begins!
